E-Sign Credits: Billing Policy and How It Works

E-sign in Quotivity uses a credit-based billing model. Each account receives a monthly credit allotment based on plan and seat count, with automatic overage billing if you exceed it.

Monthly Credit Allotment

Credits are calculated per license, per month:

Plan Credits per License per Month
Pro 10
Enterprise 15

Example: A Pro account with 5 licenses receives 50 e-sign credits per month. An Enterprise account with 10 licenses receives 150 each month.

Credits reset at the start of each calendar month and do not roll over.

Trial Accounts

Trial accounts receive 5 e-sign credits for the duration of the trial period.

Once the credits have been consumed, you will no longer be able to enable e-sign on additional quotes.

When a Credit Is Consumed

A credit is consumed when a signer initiates the e-sign process from a published quote — not when the quote is published.

This means:

  • Publishing a quote with e-sign enabled → no credit consumed
  • A signer clicks to begin the signature process → 1 credit consumed

If a customer never initiates the signing process, you are not charged.

Overages

There is no need to purchase additional credits in advance. If you exceed your monthly allotment, overage credits are automatically billed at $1.00 per credit at the end of the month.

Because overages are billed automatically, a credit card must be on file to enable e-sign on your account. If there is no credit card on file for your account, you'll be prompted to add one.

Enabling Electronic Signatures

From the Quotivity Templates tab in the Studio settings, click the e-signatures tab and flip the enable e-signatures option:

Example Billing Scenarios

Scenario 1: Within quota, no overage A Pro account with 3 licenses has 30 credits/month. During the month, reps initiate 22 e-sign requests. End-of-month charge: $0 overage.

Scenario 2: Overage A Pro account with 2 licenses has 20 credits/month. During the month, 27 e-sign requests are initiated. End-of-month overage: 7 credits × $1.00 = $7.00.

Scenario 3: Quote published, never signed A rep publishes 10 quotes with e-sign enabled. Only 4 customers initiate signing. Credits consumed: 4. The other 6 quotes cost nothing.

Scenario 4: Enterprise scaling An Enterprise account with 8 licenses has 120 credits/month. They run a high-volume month with 135 e-sign requests. Overage: 15 credits × $1.00 = $15.00.

Scenario 5: Trial account A trial account publishes several quotes and initiates signing on 4 of them. They have 1 credit remaining. If they initiate one more, it consumes their last trial credit. Any additional requests during the trial will require upgrading to a paid plan with a credit card on file.
