Configuring the Comments module

Publish the rep's comments to the buyer, and decide what the section does when there aren't any.

The Comments module publishes the quote’s Comments to Buyer field — the note a rep writes for this specific deal. The rep provides the words; the module decides where they appear and what happens when the field is empty.

In HubSpot’s module picker it’s called Comments (Quotivity).

Setting What it does
Heading The heading above the comments. Defaults to “Comments”
Show Section When Empty Renders the section even when the rep left the field blank
Empty State Message Content to show in place of comments when the field is empty

With Show Section When Empty off — the default — a quote with no comments leaves the section out entirely, heading included.

  1. Open the module. Select Comments in the Template Modules panel.
  2. Set the heading. “A note from your team” reads more warmly than “Comments”; use whatever suits your voice.
  3. Decide what an empty field means. Leave the section hidden, or turn on Show Section When Empty and write a standing message — a thank-you, or a line about next steps.
  4. Write the empty state message with CRM tokens if you want it personalized — see inserting CRM property tokens. Company, deal, and quote properties are available.
  5. Preview and publish.
  • An empty state message is a good place for a standard closing line, so quotes never end abruptly when a rep is in a hurry.
  • The comments themselves are written per quote, so this section changes with every deal — keep the heading generic enough to fit any note.
  • For content that’s the same on every quote, use a Rich Text module instead.
