Quotivity events on the HubSpot timeline
See which approval, publish, signature, and engagement events Quotivity writes to the associated deal.
Overview
Quotivity writes app events to the HubSpot deal that owns the quote. Each event appears as a card on that deal's activity timeline, so reps and admins can see what happened without leaving HubSpot. This article lists every event Quotivity sends, when it fires, and what the card shows.
These cards live on the deal, not the quote record. If a quote isn't associated with a deal, Quotivity skips the event.
This is a reference for what appears in HubSpot — there is nothing to configure in Quotivity Studio. Screenshots of Studio aren't included for that reason.
Where to find them
- Open the deal in HubSpot that the quote belongs to.
- Check the activity timeline. Quotivity cards sit alongside notes, emails, and other HubSpot activity. Filter the timeline by the Quotivity app if you want only these events.
- Review them in HubSpot's event tools. The same events also appear underData Management → Event management, and you can use them in HubSpot reports.
The approval review screen in Quotivity has its own activity history (including recall). That history is not the same as the HubSpot deal timeline — recall, for example, appears on the review screen and does not create a HubSpot event.

Validation events
Require Validation is an Enterprise feature.
|
Event |
When it fires |
What the card shows |
|---|---|---|
|

Header: Quote submitted for validation. Details name the quote and the operation (for example, Calculate Shipping). |
|
Quote validation successful |
That Validation Operation completes successfully |
Header: Quote validation successful. Details name the quote and the operation. |
A failed validation notifies the quote owner by email and clears the pending status so the rep can fix the quote and resubmit. It does not add a failure card to the HubSpot timeline.
Automated Submit Quote events
These fire when a HubSpot workflow runs Quotivity's Submit Quote action — typically after a validation workflow finishes.

|
Quote signed |
The quote is fully signed, or a rep marks it accepted when e-signature isn't in play |
Quote [name] has been SIGNED! |
Quote signed covers the whole quote: DocuSign completion, HubSpot's built-in eSign completion, or Mark as accepted. Recipient signed is the per-person step along the way.
Buyer engagement events
These fire from the published quote page when someone views, downloads, or prints it — usually the buyer, but anyone with the link can trigger them.

Quote email events
Quote emails require an Enterprise plan.
When a quote email sends successfully from the rep's Gmail or Microsoft mailbox, Quotivity records it on the deal. The event includes the recipients, the sender, whether it went through Google or Microsoft, the subject, and whether the PDF was attached.
Tips
- Filter the deal timeline by "Quotivity" when you're reconstructing a quote's history and HubSpot's other activity is in the way.
- Missing an event you expected? Confirm the quote is associated with that deal, that the feature actually ran (approval, validation, e-signature, quote email), and that you're on the plan that includes it.
- Buyer view, download, and print events only fire from the published quote page — not from opening the quote in Quote Builder or HubSpot.
