How Quote Templates work

A Quote Template controls how your published quote document looks and reads — the sections it shows, in what order, and its styling.

A Quote Template controls how a finished quote document looks and reads when it reaches a buyer. Each template is built on a HubSpot CMS landing page from your portal: the landing page handles the layout and structure, while Quotivity detects the quote modules on the page and lets you configure them. When a quote is published, Quotivity renders it from the template.

A template is made up of Quotivity modules placed on the landing page — the building blocks of the document — each of which you configure inside Quotivity.

Each module is one section of the quote document. The modules you add to the landing page are detected and listed in the Quotivity template editor. Common modules include:

  • Quote Info — the header details: quote number, creation and expiration dates, sender details, and other quote fields.
  • Buyer Company and Buyer Contacts — who the quote is for, pulled from the CRM.
  • Line Item — the products, quantities, and pricing, shown as a table you can configure.
  • Quote Signature — where the buyer (and any countersigners) sign.
  • Custom Code (Quotivity) — a free-form section using HTML, CSS, and LiquidJS for anything the ready-made modules don’t cover. See Custom Code Module (LiquidJS).
  • Quote Attachments — displays files attached to the quote, like contracts or spec sheets.

The landing page itself handles layout and structure, so colors, fonts, and the arrangement of sections are set on the HubSpot page rather than inside Quotivity.

You can keep more than one template for different situations — say, a standard template and a lighter one for renewals. A Quote Rule can set which template a quote uses based on its conditions, so the right document goes out automatically without the rep choosing it.
