Configuring the Product Terms module

Publish terms that belong to individual products, pulled from a line item property and listed once per product.

Some language belongs to a product rather than to the whole quote — a support SLA, a licence restriction, an installation note. The Product Terms module reads one line item property and prints its value for each product on the quote.

Products are deduplicated, so a product that appears on several line items is only described once.

In HubSpot’s module picker it’s called Product Terms (Quotivity).

Settings

Heading The heading above the section. Defaults to “Product Terms”
Line Item Property The property whose value is published as terms. Defaults to the line item description
Column Header Label The header for the terms column in table layout. Fills in from the property’s HubSpot label; overwrite it to use your own wording

Show Section When Empty Renders the heading even when no product on the quote has a value

Paragraphs prints each product name as a subheading with its terms underneath — good for long text. Table prints a row per product with Product Name, SKU, and the terms column — good for short, scannable clauses.

Products with no value for the chosen property are skipped. When no product has a value, the whole section is left out unless Show Section When Empty is on.

Steps

  1. Choose where the text lives. Use the standard description property, or add a dedicated product property in HubSpot — “Support terms”, say — so terms stay separate from marketing copy.
  2. Open the module. Select Product Terms in the Template Modules panel.
  3. Pick the line item property you’re publishing, then adjust the column header label if the HubSpot label isn’t customer-facing.
  4. Choose a layout format and check both in the preview with a deal that has several products.
  5. Publish the template.

Tips

Section titled “Tips”
  • Because the property is read from the line item, a rep who edits it on the quote changes what the buyer reads — worth knowing before you point this at an editable property.
  • Rich text stored on the property renders with its formatting intact, so bulleted clauses stay bulleted.
  • Company-wide language belongs in the Quote Terms module; keep this module for product-specific text.
