How Bundles work

Bundles let reps configure one product from a set of options instead of adding line items one at a time.

A bundle is a configurable group of products that a rep adds to a quote as a single item and then tailors. Each bundle is built from a bundle header — a standard HubSpot product that represents the bundle on the quote and sets its base price — plus a set of bundle options the rep chooses from. Instead of hunting for the right products one at a time, reps add the bundle once and configure it.

Bundles are ideal when a product is really a kit: a base platform with a plan, a support tier, and a few optional add-ons. You define the choices once in Quotivity Studio, and every rep configures the bundle the same consistent way.

Every bundle has two parts:

  • The bundle header is the standard HubSpot product the rep adds to start. It stands in for the whole bundle on the quote and sets the base price, priced from the quote’s price book.
  • Bundle options are the choices inside the bundle. Each option holds one or more option products and a configuration — for example, the default product or whether reps can pick more than one.

Options come in two kinds:

  • Included product options add a product automatically when the bundle is selected. Reps can swap to another product in the option but can’t remove it. Because their cost is usually folded into the bundle header price, included products often price at $0.
  • Add-on product options are optional. The rep adds them only when the customer wants them. Add-ons take the unit price set in the bundle definition and can support quantity adjustments and volume pricing.

When a rep adds a bundle to a quote, the bundle header sits on the quote as the parent line item, with its option products as members beneath it. Included options add their default product automatically; add-on options appear only when the rep chooses to add them. Members are shown indented under the header, so the quote shows exactly what’s in the bundle and prices each piece correctly.

On Enterprise plans with the Bundle Configurator, reps can configure those choices in a guided panel instead of only editing expanded rows on the quote — see How the Bundle Configurator works.

Because HubSpot doesn’t natively support bundles, Quotivity syncs the bundle’s line items to the deal when the quote is published or signed.

On Enterprise, a bundle that inherits the quote’s price book is not copied onto a new quote created from a deal unless that quote has an assigned price book. See How bundle pricing works.

A bundle is built from a bundle header and at least one bundle option — included or add-on. The header is the product reps add to start; the options are the choices they make once it’s on the quote.
