Configuring the Rich Text module
Add free-form content to a quote, personalize it with CRM property tokens, and show it only when your conditions are met.
Overview
Section titled “Overview”The Rich Text module holds free-form content — an intro paragraph, a scope of work, a thank-you note. Two things make it more than a text box: it can pull values out of the CRM with tokens, and it can appear only when the quote meets conditions you set.
In HubSpot’s module picker it’s called Rich Text (Quotivity).
Settings
Section titled “Settings”| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Display content | The content buyers see. Formatting, links, images, and CRM tokens are all supported |
| Heading | An optional heading rendered above the content |
| Conditions | Condition groups that decide whether the content shows. Combine conditions with AND or OR |
| Show fallback content when condition is false | Turns on a second body of content for quotes that don’t meet the conditions |
| Fallback content | What to show instead when the conditions aren’t met |
If the conditions fail and no fallback is turned on, the module renders nothing — no heading, no empty space.
Inserting CRM property tokens
Section titled “Inserting CRM property tokens”Tokens drop a live CRM value into your text, so the same template reads differently for each quote.
- Place your cursor where the value belongs and insert a token from the editor toolbar.
- Choose the object — Contact, Company, Deal, Quote, or Line Item.
- Choose the property. Every property in your HubSpot portal is available, including custom ones.
- Decide what happens when the value is empty. Leave Show fallback when empty off and Quotivity removes the token from the rendered quote, so you never ship a blank line. Turn it on and enter a Fallback value to print placeholder text instead.
Dropdown and checkbox properties render their option labels rather than internal values, and date properties are formatted for the quote’s language.
Example
Section titled “Example”A renewal paragraph that only appears on renewal quotes:
- Display content: “Thanks for renewing with us, {Company name}. Your new term starts on {Deal close date}.”
- Conditions: Deal type is equal to Renewal
- Fallback content: a standard welcome paragraph for new business
One template then covers both cases without the rep choosing anything.
- Keep truly different documents in separate templates. Conditions are best for a paragraph or two, not for a whole alternative quote.
- Need several conditional sections next to each other? Use the Rich Text Group module so they share a single placeholder on the landing page.
- Load sample data in the preview to check that tokens resolve the way you expect before you publish.
