Configuring the Line Item Table module
Choose the columns, filters, grouping, and bundle display for the products table at the heart of the quote.
Overview
Section titled “Overview”The Line Item Table is the products table — the section buyers read most closely and the most configurable module in a template. Its settings are split across five tabs: Columns, Totals, Filters, Groups, and More Settings.
In HubSpot’s module picker it’s called Line Item (Quotivity). Because you can add it more than once, several tables can share one quote — each filtered to a different set of products.
Columns
Section titled “Columns”The Columns tab controls what each row shows. A new table starts with Product, Quantity, Unit Price, and Total.
- Pick your columns from the column selector. Every line item property in your portal is available, including custom ones.
- Reorder them by dragging, and rename one by clicking the pencil icon next to its label. Buyers see your label, not the HubSpot property name.
- Set a column format where the value’s format isn’t already known — Currency, Number, or Percentage.
- Move a column to Full Width Columns when its content needs the whole row, such as a long product description. Full-width columns render beneath the standard columns for each line item instead of squeezing into the grid.
- Choose what bundle headers show in the Total column. The Total (amount) column has a Bundle Header Total control with two options: Bundle net price, which shows the header plus its included members, or Line item amount, which shows only the header’s own amount. Bundle net price is the default for newly added Total columns; templates saved before this option existed keep showing the line item amount until you change it.
Enterprise accounts can also click + Add Custom Column to build a column from HTML and LiquidJS — see Custom Code Module (LiquidJS).
Filters
Section titled “Filters”The Filters tab decides which line items appear in this table. Add condition groups the same way you would on a quote rule, and combine them with AND or OR.
This is what makes multiple tables useful: filter one table to recurring products and another to one-time fees, give each its own heading and columns, and the quote reads like two sections instead of one long list.
Groups
Section titled “Groups”The Groups tab organizes rows into sections inside a single table.
- Group Line Items By — the property to group on. Section headings show a dropdown property’s option label rather than its internal value.
- Group Order — drag the values into the order you want the sections to appear.
- Optional Line Items Title — the heading above optional items, which are always listed separately so buyers can tell what’s included from what’s offered.
More settings
Section titled “More settings”The More Settings tab holds the table’s heading and its bundle display.
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Heading | The table’s heading. Defaults to “Line Items” |
| Show Finalize Quote Button | Whether buyers see the button that finalizes their selections |
| Bundle Settings | How bundle members appear beneath their bundle header |
Bundle members display one of three ways:
- Indented under the bundle header product — the full detail view. Turn on Show Bundle Member Pricing to include each member’s quantity and price.
- As a bulleted list — member product names only, without pricing or quantities.
- Hidden completely — only the bundle header row shows.
- Fewer columns read better. Move detail into a full-width column rather than shrinking six columns to fit.
- Rename columns to your customers’ language — “Investment” instead of “Amount”, if that’s how your team talks.
- Which properties reps can edit in Quote Builder is a separate setting — see Configuring line item columns.
- Totals live on their own tab — see Configuring quote totals on the Line Item Table.
