How Guided Selling works
Guided Selling walks reps through branching questionnaires so quotes start with the right products, properties, and rules every time.
Guided Selling is included on Enterprise and Trial. Legacy Pro accounts have complimentary access through November 1, 2026. Standard Pro does not include it unless it’s enabled on your account. If you don’t see Guided Selling in the Quotivity Studio sidebar, contact Quotivity.
Overview
Section titled “Overview”Guided Selling is a branching questionnaire that reps complete while creating or building a quote. You design the questions and paths once in Quotivity Studio; reps answer them in a guided flow. Their answers can sync to HubSpot, drive Quote Rules, and shape the quote before the rep ever opens the product library.
Use Guided Selling when the first decisions on a deal — product line, site type, compliance needs, quantity drivers — should happen the same way every time, not ad hoc in a free-form quote.
The pieces
Section titled “The pieces”Guided Selling has three building blocks:
- Questions live in the Question Library. Each question has a label reps see, an answer type (number, date, boolean, single-select, or multi-select), and an optional HubSpot property sync.
- Flows are the questionnaires. A flow is a sequence of steps, each with one or more questions and branches that route the rep to the next step — or to the end — based on their answers.
- Flow Responses are the saved answers from a completed run. Quote Rules can read them under the Flow Response variable, and rules can open a flow in Quote Builder with the Start Guided Selling Flow outcome.
Where reps start a flow
Section titled “Where reps start a flow”An Active flow is available to reps only on the surfaces you choose:
- Quote Creation — from the Quotivity card on a HubSpot deal, using Start Guided Selling Flow. Completing the flow creates the quote with those answers attached.
- Quote Builder — from the line items toolbar, or automatically when a Quote Rule with the Start Guided Selling Flow outcome triggers. A rule that matches at Create New Quote opens the flow full screen (no Cancel) on a minimal quote; price book, deal line items, and other create rules run after Save & Apply. Later matching rules in an open quote still use a modal. Set the flow to Quote Builder only if you want Create New Quote to require the questionnaire without showing Start Guided Selling Flow on the deal card. Create-time Start Flow rules should not use line-item conditions; configure a second Start Flow rule for conditions that need products on the quote.
Available in on the flow controls this: All surfaces, Quote Creation only, or Quote Builder only. Draft flows stay hidden from reps.
How answers connect to the rest of Quotivity
Section titled “How answers connect to the rest of Quotivity”When a rep finishes a flow:
- Answers are saved as a Flow Response on the deal (and on the quote when run from Quote Builder).
- Questions configured to sync write their values to the linked Deal, Company, and — when a quote exists — Quote HubSpot properties (best effort).
- Quote Rules that condition on Flow Response can add products, set quantities, swap bundle options, require approval, and more — using the same rule engine you already configure.
